So let's be honest, when is the last time you got him a great gift? Something so awesome he jumped for joy and bear hugged the life out of you. Well, maybe he didn't get that excited, but really, how long has it been?

Personally, I've discovered that of the five love languages, gifts are the way to my heart. My significant other has also graciously figured out (with my help) that gifts are the ultimate way to turn my cloudy day bright. Often, I find myself being treated to awesome gifts for holidays, my birthday and even random just because gifts from my boo thang. But, the question was posed the other day that stopped me dead in my tracks, “When is that last time you bought him a gift? A GREAT gift?”

Stunned, I thought back to the lousy portable charger I gave him 8 months earlier for Christmas and realized… I am a terrible person. How could I have been so selfish to not consider that he probably also likes to receive gifts as well. Nice and thoughtful gifts at that!

So, in my guilt I began to wonder how often does this happen? Are there other women out there that become so wrapped up in being courted and catered to that they sometimes forget to show that same love back? If you're that rock star lady that showers your man with surprises frequently, then refer this post to a friend in need.

But for those of us who are spoiled by our men and haven't shown much  in return recently, I challenge you to do a little spoiling back. Making men feel loved and appreciated is not always at the forefront of our minds as they are so strong and mighty. However, even big lions like to have their bellies rubbed.

OK, so I should get him a gift… but what should i get?

This is the fun part, kinda like a science experiment. First things first, do your research!

Observe him in his environment. What gadgets is he always playing with? What games or TV shows does he get excited about? What places or concerts does he talking about going to? What random thing is he ALWAYS buying?

These insights will be the clues you need to find the perfect gift for your man and I have a feeling he’ll want to thank you for it!
